Art Strolls

Ely, Nevada

Travel Hwy 50 across Nevada, the fabulous and evocative Loneliest Road in America. and you will come to Ely, Nevada. Stop and stay, there is much to see. Ely has in the old town an 11-block mural tour depicting the history and cultures of the area. They are beautifully done by artists local and international, plus local high school art students. The city puts out a detailed tour, you can start wherever you like.  But don't miss them. They are beautiful and educational.
There is also a sculpture park and one block is devoted to capturing history as the Renaissance Village featuring a miner's cabin, a Greek house, an English house, Spanish house, Slavic house, French house, Asian house, Italian house and a general store. These capture the periods of history from various cultures and are fascinating to wander through.
There is also an excellent art gallery in the old downtown,  Art Bank - the gallery is located in an old bank building.
Be sure to visit the Great Basin National Park nearby to enjoy Ma Nature's ggrand art.. and stop by the Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park. The whole road across Nevada is fascinating but don't miss Ely's murals!
